Costa Rican dairy cooperative turns AI agents into colleagues

Costa Rican dairy cooperative Dos Pinos has deployed about 80 AI agents across functions, from packaging inspection to legal drafting, using Microsoft Copilot Studio. The agents, built by employees themselves, have reduced packaging inconsistencies by over 50% and cut time-to-market by roughly 10 days. The cooperative aims to scale AI adoption to all 6,000 employees by 2026.
Dos Pinos, one of Central America's largest dairy cooperatives based in Costa Rica, has deployed around 80 AI agents across its operations. The agents were built by employees using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Copilot Chat, and Microsoft 365 Copilot. For example, a packaging inspection agent compares labels against technical sheets and highlights discrepancies, reducing errors to nearly zero since late 2025. Another agent acts as a virtual veterinarian for retail product recommendations. Over 1,000 employees have already been equipped with Copilot, and the cooperative plans to expand to all 6,000 staff by 2026. An internal AI ambassadors program with 15 employees helps train colleagues. Sales analyst Randall Benavides used Copilot to automate report distribution, freeing up four hours daily. The cooperative reports a more than 50% decrease in packaging inconsistencies and an average time-to-market reduction of 10 days. Employees emphasize that AI augments rather than replaces their work, allowing them to focus on higher-value tasks.
