Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) announced deploying its second NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD, built on eight DGX Vera Rubin NVL72 systems, making it the most powerful and energy-efficient AI cluster in life sciences. The system will give all BMS scientists access to a unified AI platform for drug discovery, including NVIDIA BioNeMo Agent Toolkit, enabling faster cycles, bigger chemical spaces, and agentic workflows across the pipeline.
Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) announced the deployment of its second NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD, built on eight DGX Vera Rubin NVL72 systems, which it calls the most powerful and energy-efficient AI cluster in life sciences, delivering up to 10x the performance per megawatt of the infrastructure it replaces. The system will be accessible to every scientist at BMS, not just a small group, providing a unified AI platform including the NVIDIA BioNeMo Agent Toolkit for biological AI. Researchers will be able to run predictions, train models, and power agentic workflows across the full drug discovery pipeline. BMS has already used AI for over three years, achieving results such as saving weeks of manual work in target identification, expanding its library of CELMoD compounds, and applying a 'Predict First' methodology in lead optimization. The new system will be combined with the existing DGX SuperPOD into a single data plane, accessible from all BMS sites globally. Agentic workflows are expected to further enhance R&D by enabling learning across silos and programs, augmenting human instincts with quantitative insights.
