How a New Energy Giant Powers the World's Largest AI Super Single Building

Envision Group, a new energy company, has launched the 'Envision Ulanqab Xinghe Base' in Ulanqab, China, which includes the world's largest AI computing super single building, covering over 120,000 square meters (equivalent to 20 standard football fields) and with a total planned capacity of 2GW. The base is designed to support one million cards in parallel and petaflop-level computing. As AI clusters scale from ten thousand to one million cards, power consumption jumps from megawatts to gigawatts, making power supply a critical bottleneck. Ulanqab was chosen for its rich wind and solar resources, with 67% of its electricity from green sources. Envision uses its 'Tianji' weather model for forecasting, 'Tianshu' energy model for scheduling, and EnOS IoT operating system for execution, creating a real-time feedback loop to convert intermittent renewable energy into stable power. The facility uses an 800V DC power supply with SST and BESS to reduce conversion losses and integrates cooling solutions like air and liquid cooling. Envision claims this system achieves ten times the computing output per area compared to traditional data centers. Envision plans to build 5GW of green AI computing centers in global deserts by 2030, with the Xinghe base as the first step, shifting competition towards system-level efficiency in power, cooling, and infrastructure.
