Dongguan Digital Human and Smart Sleep Innovation Consortium Launched at DeRUCCI, Defining New AI-Driven Sleep Health Track
Huawei Cloud
On July 27, the Dongguan Digital Human and Smart Sleep Innovation Consortium was inaugurated at DeRUCCI's headquarters. Led by DeRUCCI and co-organized with the Guangdong Huazhong University of Science and Technology Industrial Technology Research Institute, the consortium aims to integrate AI, sensing technology, and clinical medicine to advance sleep health from passive management to proactive care. Key members include Huawei Cloud, multiple universities, and hospitals such as Peking University Third Hospital.
The Dongguan Digital Human and Smart Sleep Innovation Consortium was officially unveiled at DeRUCCI's headquarters on July 27, 2024, with guidance from the Dongguan Science and Technology Bureau and Houjie Town Government, and co-organized by DeRUCCI and the Guangdong Huazhong University of Science and Technology Industrial Technology Research Institute. About 300 representatives from relevant government departments, top universities, tertiary medical institutions, core industry chain enterprises, investment institutions, and mainstream media attended. During the ceremony, Academician Yin Zhouping, Vice President of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Chinese Academy of Sciences academician, was appointed Chief Scientist, and DeRUCCI CTO Chen Wenze was appointed Chief Administrative Engineer. The consortium addresses common sleep issues like insomnia and poor sleep quality by shifting from passive, subjective sleep management to proactive, data-driven approaches using AI, sensing technology, and clinical medicine. DeRUCCI leverages its National CNAS lab, millions of ergonomic data models, billions of sleep behavior data points, proprietary tidal algorithm, and sleep vertical large model for non-invasive physiological monitoring and personalized AI sleep intervention. Consortium partners include Sizhi Intelligent, Keheng, Jingbofang, Huawei Cloud, and research support from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Beihang University, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangdong University of Technology, and medical institutions such as Peking University Third Hospital, Dongguan People's Hospital, and Dongguan Maternal and Child Health Hospital. The consortium's three core tasks are: 1) tackling theoretical mechanisms of sleep medicine and sleep human factors engineering, and key technologies like sleep human modeling and non-invasive monitoring; 2) building a digital human AI+ smart research ward and a multi-center full-process digital health clinical validation system to accelerate rollout of smart sleep products; 3) empowering traditional home furnishing industry transformation in Dongguan and cultivating new industrial forms to support the Healthy China 2030 strategy. The consortium plans seven core sub-projects covering sleep medicine theory, sleep human factors engineering, sleep monitoring, sleep analysis, sleep intervention, sleep large model, and clinical evaluation and demonstration, forming a complete innovation loop from clinical data input to home sleep ecological service output. DeRUCCI's self-developed sleep vertical large model has been deployed on the T12 series product line, generating sleep reports, personalized improvement plans, and smart Q&A, and can adjust the sleep environment by linking T12 mattresses, electric beds, lights, air conditioning, and other devices. The consortium also introduced an AI individualized sleep support system with three capabilities: AI body recognition, physical structure customization, and dynamic self-adaptation.
