AWS has announced the Agentic Catalog Experience in Amazon Quick, an AI-powered workflow that helps data curators discover, inherit, and manage catalog metadata from platforms like AWS Glue and Databricks Unity Catalog. This new feature enables faster creation of datasets and topics, with natural language discovery and automated semantic inheritance.
AWS announced the Agentic Catalog Experience in Amazon Quick, an AI-powered workflow designed to bridge the gap between upstream data catalogs and end-user analytics. Data curators can use natural language to discover relevant tables from catalogs like AWS Glue Data Catalog and Databricks Unity Catalog, and the Quick Agent auto-creates Catalog-Generated Datasets and Topics with inherited metadata. The feature inherits table and column descriptions, glossary terms, and primary/foreign key relationships, while keeping the upstream catalog as the source of truth via DirectQuery and read-only metadata. This reduces setup time from weeks to minutes, and supports immediate consumption through Q&A and dashboards.
