Yandex Registers Trademark for AI Browser: SplitView Enables Conversing with Alice AI in Any Tab

Yandex has filed an application to register the trademark 'SplitView' with Rospatent, planning to use it for a Yandex Browser feature that allows users to converse with the Alice AI assistant without switching between tabs. According to Yandex, more than 15 million people have already used the feature, which keeps the AI assistant constantly present on the open page, letting users read or watch content and discuss it with the AI without opening additional windows. Users engage in about 500,000 dialogues with the AI daily. Yandex believes trademark registration will legally solidify this business direction, as the SplitView mode is becoming one of the primary ways users interact with the internet. In related context, Yandex recently added AI-powered features to its smart IP cameras, enabling Alice AI to recognize objects in the frame and answer questions about events, such as whether a child is sleeping or if someone approached the door. These camera features can be accessed via Yandex Station, TV Station, Yandex Drops headphones, and the Alice AI chat, and support voice control of viewing angles and automatic recording based on set events.
