Suno Studio 2.0 Turns Music Production into a Chat with Your Own AI Band

Suno has introduced Studio 2.0, a comprehensive update to its AI music production platform, available only to Premier subscribers. A new chat function (beta) allows users to communicate with the studio as if it were a band member, for example to create instruments, vocals, or custom plugins via text. Users can now import MIDI, record and edit, create plugins via chat, separate stems, and use automation curves. Multitracks can be exported in 32-bit/48kHz without restrictions. Plugin creation currently consumes no credits, but Suno says a credit structure may follow later. Notably, the unlimited export contradicts Suno's recent announcements: CEO Mikey Shulman had just announced new download limits to curb mass distribution of AI songs on streaming platforms. Suno presumably believes paying professionals pose a lower spam risk. Suno is also under criticism for using copyrighted material to train its music models; a German court recently ruled that the service violates German copyright law and that training is not covered by the US fair use rule.
