The solution enables simulations to run in seconds on a single GPU instead of hours or weeks on HPC clusters, unlocking opportunities for accelerated design and digital twins. The technology is already being deployed with partners: ASML, Airbus, Safran, Siemens Energy.
Mistral AI has introduced a new direction—physics AI—that accelerates engineering calculations by orders of magnitude. Traditional numerical simulation methods (computational fluid dynamics, finite element method) require hours or weeks of computation on high-performance computing clusters, which limits analysis to only a few variants. Physics AI, trained on solver data, predicts the behavior of physical systems in seconds on a single graphics processing unit, not replacing classical solvers but complementing them for most iterations of the design cycle. To develop this direction, Mistral AI integrated Emmi AI technologies. The solution provides geometric and parametric generalization: one model serves an entire family of designs rather than each part individually. Physics AI opens three key scenarios: accelerated product design (thousands of variants instead of one), accelerated tooling and process design (optimization of geometry and parameters), and real-time digital twins (continuous predictions based on sensor data). The technology is applicable in aerospace, automotive, electronics, energy, and industrial equipment manufacturing. Mistral AI's partners include ASML, Airbus, Safran, and Siemens Energy. Physics AI is part of Mistral's unified enterprise platform, which includes language and multimodal models, tools for agentic workflows, model customization, and secure deployment.
