ChatGPT and Roblox to Face Stricter EU Regulation as Very Large Online Platforms

This status applies to services with over 45 million monthly active users in the EU. OpenAI and Roblox will then have to comply with enhanced content moderation, transparency reporting, and risk assessment obligations, plus pay an annual supervisory fee of up to 0.05% of global annual profit.

They will also be required to pay an annual supervisory fee to the European Commission, which depends on user numbers but cannot exceed 0.05% of the company's global profit from the previous financial year. Current very large online platforms include Amazon, TikTok, Wikipedia, YouTube, Facebook*, Instagram*, LinkedIn, and Zalando. Violations of the DSA can lead to fines of up to 6% of a company's global annual revenue.
