The $700 million plant is expected to create over 500 jobs, scaling to 1,000 by year-end. Wistron opened its first US manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas, a 324,000-square-foot plant producing NVIDIA superchips. NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang joined Wistron Chairman Simon Lin at the opening ceremony, emphasizing the importance of domestic manufacturing for AI infrastructure. The D1 facility currently runs two production cells: one for the NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip and one for the upcoming NVIDIA Vera Rubin Superchip. The plant is scaling up to produce tens of thousands of boards per month. The $700 million investment has created over 500 jobs, with plans to expand to 1,000 by year-end. Wistron designed the facility using a digital twin built on NVIDIA's open platform, including Nemotron and Cosmos models, Omniverse and Metropolis libraries, and PhysicsNeMo framework, enabling validation of assembly lines and training before physical production. The first GB300 superchip produced on site was unveiled and signed by Huang, who described the system as 'the most powerful AI supercomputer in the world,' weighing two tons and costing $4 million. The Fort Worth factory is part of NVIDIA's commitment to manufacture up to $500 billion in AI platforms in the US.
