As EU rules on labeling AI-generated materials take effect, WhatsApp is preparing a feature for channel admins to mark AI-created content. WABetaInfo found the feature in the Android app's code, but it's likely to appear in the iOS version as well. After posting an AI-generated message, admins can press and hold to open a context menu and choose 'Add AI content label'. The message will then show a visible label indicating the use of AI, and users cannot remove it. Labeling is required only for images, videos, and other media edited or created with AI tools, not for text.
