Ukrainian intelligence claims NVIDIA Jetson Orin computing module found in debris of new Russian missile/drone S-71M Monokhrom

Ukraine's GUR reported that a NVIDIA Jetson Orin computing module was found in the debris of the new Russian aviation missile/drone S-71M 'Monokhrom'. The module, part of the S-71M MS001 product, is a high-performance edge computing platform designed for real-time data processing in AI systems that operate without constant connection to remote servers (Edge AI). The GUR statement suggests that the presence of the module indicates a high degree of autonomy in the weapon, allowing for autonomous operations, including the execution of strike missions even in GPS-denied environments. The use of Jetson Orin in the S-71M suggests that the Russian military is integrating advanced AI-based computer vision and navigation systems into its precision-guided munitions, potentially rivaling Western capabilities. According to the GUR, the module could enable the weapon to independently adjust its flight path or select targets without external control.
