Twitch Will Let Amazon Train AI on Stream Recordings

Twitch has introduced a channel control panel setting that permits the use of stream recordings to train Amazon's generative AI models, as reported by TechCrunch. The setting is enabled by default for all creators, who can opt out manually in their profile settings. The decision has sparked backlash among creators, many of whom broadcast for hours with their own likeness and voice. During an official Twitch stream, head of community Mary Kish and director of product Mike Minton said the consent is enabled by default because otherwise 'no one would agree.' Twitch representatives noted that other social platforms also use public user content to train AI, but unlike most, Twitch offers creators the option to opt out.
