Russian IT Companies Ask Ministry of Digital Development to Simplify Work with Depersonalized Personal Data for AI Development and Training

Russian IT companies have submitted a request to the Ministry of Digital Development (Mincifry) to ease regulations around the use of depersonalized personal data (PD) for the development and training of artificial intelligence systems. The companies argue that current rules hinder innovation and slow down AI projects. They propose a more flexible framework that would allow easier access to anonymized data while maintaining privacy safeguards. The ministry has not yet responded publicly to the proposal.
