- Moscow starts testing fully driverless Lastochka train with remote operator
The Russian Railways research institute NIIAS has begun testing the Lastochka electric train with a fourth-level automation driverless system on the Moscow Central Circle (MCC). The train has no driver; an operator in a dispatch center remotely controls it and can monitor up to four trains simultaneously. The system is fully domestically developed.
