Revolut replaces Perplexity with ChatGPT Go: how to avoid paying

Revolut announced on July 30 that it would partner with OpenAI to offer ChatGPT Go to its customers, but in an email sent on August 3, 2026, it clarified that ChatGPT Go would replace Perplexity Pro rather than complement it. Perplexity Pro will be removed from Revolut's benefits on September 2, 2026. The change is commercially logical since Perplexity Pro costs about 20 euros per month publicly while ChatGPT Go is only 8 euros, and Revolut can leverage OpenAI's near-billion weekly users. However, customers who used Perplexity lose a comprehensive, ad-free tool and get a basic, ad-supported plan. Revolut instructs users to cancel Perplexity themselves if they have payment details linked; otherwise, cancellation is unnecessary. Users can check their subscription status in Perplexity's settings under 'Your subscription' and follow Revolut's steps to cancel if needed.
