Greg Brockman, President and Co-Founder of OpenAI, observes that many at OpenAI connect ChatGPT to Slack, but people dislike when a coworker's ChatGPT contacts them for help, even if they'd be happy to help the coworker directly. This underscores the value of human relationships and the desire for AI to give time back or enhance time together, not become a separating layer.
In a post dated August 1, 2026, Greg Brockman, President and Co-Founder of OpenAI, commented on the integration of ChatGPT with Slack at OpenAI. He noted that many people connect their ChatGPT to Slack, but there is a general dislike for when a coworker's ChatGPT contacts a colleague asking for help with a task, even when that colleague would be perfectly happy to do the same work if asked directly by the coworker. This, he says, reinforces how much people care about human relationships and helping each other. They want AI to give time back or enhance time together, rather than become a layer separating people.
