OpenAI has unveiled Presence, a new offering aimed at enterprise customers, to help them implement and validate AI agents in real-world applications. Unlike the previous workspace agents, which are customizable GPTs primarily for internal use, Presence focuses on productive deployments in customer service and internal workflows. When a use case goes beyond what Presence currently covers, OpenAI's Forward Deployed Engineers work with the customer to bring it into production, selecting appropriate workflows, integrating existing systems, setting policies, and handling testing and the production launch. Presence is currently available to eligible enterprise customers but is not an open product. The source mentions trust mechanisms but does not specify how OpenAI addresses compliance requirements such as the EU AI Act.
