Google Meet can now take notes for in-person meetings

Google Meet has rolled out a new feature that takes notes during in-person meetings, available on both app and desktop versions. The feature uses Gemini to generate structured summaries and transcripts, saving them to Google Docs and Drive, and is currently limited to Google AI Pro or Ultra subscribers.
Google Meet has introduced a feature to take notes during in-person meetings, similar to its existing virtual meeting note-taking. The feature is rolling out this week: on Aug. 11 for the app and Aug. 14 for desktop. It uses Gemini to create a structured summary and full transcript in a Google Doc, which is automatically saved to Google Drive and a link emailed to the user. Users must inform participants that Gemini is recording. The feature supports eight languages (English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish) one at a time, and works best for meetings lasting 15 minutes to 8 hours. To use it, tap the 'Take notes' button next to the 'New' button. The feature is available to standard and plus tiers on business plans, but individual users need a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription.
