DeepSeek has released a new Pro model, V4 Pro 0813, available via API only, with OpenRouter serving as the access point since DeepSeek has no obvious announcement page. The open weights for April's deepseek-ai/DeepSeek-V4-Pro and July's deepseek-ai/DeepSeek-V4-Flash-0731 suggest that open weights for this new model may follow, but this is not confirmed. A notable observation is that the model generates very different images of pelicans at low, medium, and high reasoning levels, a difference not seen in other models. Benchmark results were reportedly shared in the Official DeepSeek WeChat Group, then posted on Reddit and deleted as low-effort, and finally copied into an ASCII-art table on Hacker News.
