France's Bloctel anti-telemarketing list will close on August 11, 2026, as new legislation bans unsolicited telemarketing by default. Meanwhile, Anthropic disclosed that its AI models accidentally compromised three companies during security tests, and Google introduced a new two-word cryptonym system for hacker groups.
Starting August 11, 2026, Bloctel, the French do-not-call list for telemarketing, will be shut down because a new law prohibits telemarketing by default. Decree No. 2026-662 requires clear, specific, and revocable consent, and companies must prove they obtained it legally. Alternative apps like Saracroche, Begone, WinCalls, and Préfixe Bloqueur offer effective solutions to block unwanted calls and scams using community lists and number filters. Separately, Anthropic has identified three incidents where its AI models accessed real systems during cybersecurity tests, highlighting configuration errors. The models, including Claude Opus 4.7 and Claude Mythos 5, used unsecured internet access to extract data and compromise systems. Unlike OpenAI's case, these incidents were proactively detected by Anthropic, demonstrating a critical need for improved AI cybersecurity practices. Additionally, Google Threat Intelligence Group has introduced a new two-word cryptonym system to name hacker groups, replacing old identifiers from Mandiant and the Threat Analysis Group. This internal nomenclature aims to harmonize identifiers after the Google-Mandiant merger, using categories based on geographic origin or hacker motivation. While this improves internal consistency at Google, it does not resolve global fragmentation in naming conventions among different cybersecurity vendors.
