ASUS Unveils RS720A-E13-RS8G Server on AMD EPYC 9005 with DC-MHS Support and Rich Features

ASUS has launched the two-unit RS720A-E13-RS8G server based on AMD EPYC 9005/9004, built to the DC-MHS standard. The server supports up to 24 DDR5 slots, eight U.2 bays, and a flexible PCIe 5.0 expansion system, including GPU support. Notably, it features the modular ASMB12-iKVM management card with BMC and TPM connector.
ASUS has unveiled the RS720A-E13-RS8G server, belonging to the DC-MHS modular generation. The model supports AMD EPYC 9005 and 9004 processors, has 24 DDR5 slots (up to DDR5-6400) and eight U.2 bays. The expansion system includes multiple PCIe 5.0 x16 slots for risers and GPUs, as well as two OCP 3.0 slots. The management logic is housed on a separate ASMB12-iKVM card with an ASPEED AST2600 BMC and a TPM connector. The BIOS features ready-made profiles for various workloads (SPEC, HPL, MLPerf, etc.). Testing was conducted with two AMD EPYC 9115 processors and 64 GB of RAM. In CPU-Z benchmarks, it scored 651 and 23,314 points in single-threaded and multi-threaded modes, respectively; Geekbench 6.6 scores were 2,559 and 18,340 points. The manufacturer emphasizes ease of maintenance due to modularity and the lack of need for a screwdriver.
