Ant Group Open-Sources Avernet for Efficient Human-Agent Collaboration

Ant Group has officially open-sourced Avernet, a multi-agent collaboration infrastructure, with the community version now available. The first version emphasizes agent collaboration network capabilities, enabling different agents to be discovered, invited, participate in tasks, and return results. Avernet was developed to address real organizational collaboration needs within Ant, solving problems such as difficulty in finding suitable agents, lack of consensus, manual task handoffs, and failure to accumulate project experience. The platform supports multiple participants forming consensus on key outputs, and provides observability and recording of collaboration processes. Avernet does not bind to a single model or agent engine, allowing developers to flexibly integrate existing capabilities. Security governance is a priority, with the community version partially opening identity authentication, access authorization, permission control, lifecycle management, and some security protection features. Upcoming versions will add audit trails, observability, evaluation, memory, and container cluster management. As of July 31, 2026, Avernet has been applied to 12 core business sectors within Ant, with agent task completion rates consistently above 90%. The project is licensed under Apache 2.0.
