AI Notetaker Now Invited to All Meetings

Wispr Flow CEO Tanay Kothari announced the launch of Wispr's Notetaker feature, an AI tool that transcribes meetings in real time and generates summaries using generative AI. The tool connects to calendars, listens in on meetings, and provides a chatbot-style interface for asking follow-up questions. It is available on Mac first, with Windows support planned. Wispr's expansion into meeting recorders reflects a broader trend in Silicon Valley where AI transcription is becoming common in business meetings. The tool's standout feature is the 'ask anything' capability, which allows users to locate specific quotes from the conversation. Users can adjust settings, including extending maximum recording length to six hours, a change from the previous six-minute limit. Wispr emphasizes that users should always disclose when recording, due to legal requirements in places like San Francisco where consent from all participants is mandatory. The feature offers a Privacy Mode to prevent data from being used for AI training.
