Google DeepMindのWeatherNextがサイクロンの進路と強度を同時に予測
Google DeepMindは、熱帯サイクロンの進路と強度を専門モデルよりも正確に予測し、約1日先の未来を見通すAIシステム「WeatherNext Cyclones（WN-C）」を発表しました。約100倍粗いグリッドセルのデータを使用しているにもかかわらず、既存のモデルを上回る性能を発揮します。この手法はFunctional Generative Networksを利用し、米国国立ハリケーンセンターなどのパートナーと共同で開発されました。
