Seagate sells out almost all HDDs it will produce until 2028 and reveals timing for 50TB drives

Seagate announced that qualification tests for 50TB hard drives will begin in late 2027, with volume shipments in 2028. Demand is so high due to AI and cloud infrastructure that most future HDD supply is already sold out through 2028, and negotiations are underway for 2029 deliveries.
