At WAIC 2026, Industrial Robots Capable of 'Real Work' Were Showcased

At the WAIC 2026 exhibition, Mech-Mind Robotics showcased robots that are not just performing spectacular tricks but actually working. In one demo, a humanoid robot selected an item from a shelf and handed it over based on a visitor's voice command. In another, a manipulator assembled thin-walled metal parts at high speed. All demonstrations shared a common goal: to show robots capable of working in real-world conditions. Mech-Mind is developing its own "eye-brain-hand" system: an industrial 3D vision system, a multimodal large language model called Mech-GPT (which accepts voice and visual commands), and a dexterous hand called Mech-Hand, trained on large amounts of real-world data. The robots handled sorting transparent objects, picking up nuts in 2.4 seconds, and assembling flexible wires with sub-millimeter accuracy. The company emphasizes that "intelligence matters more than form": different tasks require different bodies, but the "brain" should be shared. Mech-Mind's products have been widely deployed in industry, with over 27,000 systems installed, customers including more than 100 Fortune 500 companies, and market leadership in China for six consecutive years (2020–2025). The company is also expanding its global presence with offices in the United States, Japan, South Korea, and Germany.
