Tencent Reorganizes Large Model Team Again: New Fundamental Model Department Created, Yao Shunyu's Responsibilities Expanded

Tencent is conducting another reorganization of its large AI model development team. The company is merging the fundamental model teams from two business groups, TEG (Technology Engineering Group) and WXG (Weixin Group), to create a unified Fundamental Model Department. Yao Shunyu has been appointed to lead the new department, while also becoming the head of the TEG AI Lab. Previously, Yao Shunyu led the development of the Hunyuan model within WXG, and his responsibilities have now been expanded. The reorganization is expected to enhance synergy between teams and accelerate Tencent's progress in large language models (LLMs).
