SoftBank Signs $40 Billion Credit Agreement to Invest in OpenAI with 21 New Banks

Japanese SoftBank Group has attracted 21 new financial institutions to provide a $40 billion bridge loan intended for investment in OpenAI. The total share of new lenders is about $7 billion, with the largest participants — First Abu Dhabi Bank, GIC, and Standard Chartered — each contributing $1 billion.
According to informed sources, SoftBank Group has arranged a $40 billion bridge loan for investment in the American technology company OpenAI. This loan has now entered the mass distribution phase: 21 new financial institutions have joined the original lenders. In total, the new participants received approximately $7 billion of the credit line. Specifically, First Abu Dhabi Bank (UAE), GIC (Singapore), and Standard Chartered (UK) each provided $1 billion. The remaining funds were distributed among banks from Europe, Japan, and Taiwan (China).
