Smartphone AI Agent Race: Nubia, StepFun, and Honor Compete on Models, Hardware, and Apps

A competitive race is unfolding in China to integrate AI agents into smartphones. Manufacturers Nubia and Honor, along with AI startup StepFun, have simultaneously unveiled their approaches to creating mobile AI agents. Nubia and StepFun are jointly developing a solution that combines StepFun's large language model Step-2 with the hardware capabilities of Nubia smartphones. Honor, on the other hand, is promoting its own AI agent concept based on its MagicLM model. All three companies are betting on the integration of model, hardware, and agent application, aiming to offer users a fundamentally new smartphone interaction experience.
