Recursive Superintelligence signs $410M compute deal with Amazon

On Tuesday, AI company Recursive Superintelligence announced a $410 million compute deal with Amazon Web Services. The company emerged from stealth in May with $650 million in funding and focuses on building open-ended self-improving systems, a compute-intensive approach. Recursive’s $410 million outlay represents the bulk of its fundraising to date, but CEO Socher expects this to be the smallest of future compute deals. The company emphasizes compute over headcount, automating product development. Amazon's involvement is purely commercial, not an investment, but AWS will co-develop purpose-built infrastructure for such companies. Recursive aims to release practical products by October, using recursive self-improvement (RSI) to automate development.
