OpenAI announced pricing and performance optimizations for its GPT-5.6 series to improve cost-effectiveness for enterprise AI applications. Prices for GPT-5.6 Luna and GPT-5.6 Terra are reduced by 80% and 20%, respectively, and the reductions also apply to paid subscription credits when using Codex and ChatGPT Work. Additionally, OpenAI introduced Fast mode in its API, replacing the previous Priority Processing service, with GPT-5.6 Sol achieving up to 2.5x faster processing at double the standard price.

These price cuts will also be reflected in the calculation of paid subscription credits when using Codex and ChatGPT Work. In Fast mode, GPT-5.6 Sol can achieve processing speeds up to 2.5 times faster than standard mode, at twice the price of standard processing, while the model's capabilities remain unchanged.
