Nvidia to act as guarantor for SoftBank in $500 billion data center project in Ohio

According to Reuters and The Wall Street Journal, Nvidia is in talks to act as a guarantor for SoftBank's subsidiary building a 10 GW data center in southern Ohio. The project, estimated at $500 billion, will have Nvidia guaranteeing about $250 billion in loans. OpenAI will be the primary tenant, with other potential users including Anthropic, Microsoft, and Google. The Japanese government is indirectly involved through a trade agreement, and U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick will select users for the facility.
