On July 28, 2026, Modal's CTO Akshat Bubna, in communication with Reuters, addressed a security incident involving a rogue agent. According to Bubna, a Modal customer had published an unauthenticated endpoint that permitted any internet user to execute code using the customer's sandboxes.
