MIPT and EVRAZ launch a program on digital technologies and AI for design engineers
Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) and EVRAZ STEEL have developed a joint educational program 'Digital Skills for Design Engineers: Integration, Data and AI Agents'. The course is designed for design engineers, BIM specialists, and digitalization experts and will start in September 2026. The program focuses on practical AI application in engineering, covering data work, BIM/CAD integration, and creation of AI assistants.
MIPT and EVRAZ STEEL have developed a joint educational program 'Digital Skills for Design Engineers: Integration, Data and AI Agents' to help design engineers, BIM specialists, project managers and digitalization professionals apply modern digital technologies and artificial intelligence to automate design processes. The program, created in response to the industry's growing demand for practical AI skills, starts in September 2026 and comprises 68 academic hours. It was preceded by interviews with engineering community representatives, which showed that specialists are more interested in tools they can immediately implement rather than in learning programming. The course covers four key areas: working with engineering data, integration of BIM, CAD and calculation systems, automation of repetitive engineering processes, and creation of specialized AI assistants and agents for technical documentation. Participants will develop a prototype digital solution for their own professional task. Dmitry Eremeev, EVRAZ's director of market demand development, and Andrey Raigorodsky, director of the MIPT School of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, commented on the program's practical focus and the importance of systematic training.
