LinkedIn adds button to report AI-generated 'slop'

LinkedIn announced a new feature that lets users click a 'Seems like AI slop' button to flag content that appears to be AI-generated. The company is also investing in automation defenses, blocking hundreds of thousands of automated comment attempts daily, and introducing classifiers to identify AI slop. Additionally, LinkedIn will privately notify users when their content is perceived as inauthentic due to heavy AI use, and is replacing its 'enhance your post' feature with a proofreading tool. Other platforms like Substack have also partnered with Pangram to identify AI content, while Cloudflare reports that bot traffic now exceeds human-generated requests on the web.
