Swallowing 100,000 Characters: Kingsoft Office's New Agent Lingxi Pro Goes Live

Chinese company Kingsoft Office, known for its WPS suite, has launched a new standalone AI agent called "Lingxi Professional Edition" (Lingxi Pro). Unlike the ordinary AI assistant within WPS that merely adds a button, Lingxi acts as a full-fledged office assistant: it understands projects, gathers and analyzes materials, and executes tasks, while WPS handles editing and document formatting. During testing, Lingxi processed 100,000 characters of transcripts from five coffee chats on embodied intelligence and built a local knowledge base, grouping topics such as world models, VLA (Vision-Language-Action models), robotic reinforcement learning, and the data problem. The agent then automatically created a folder in WPS Cloud and generated a presentation on "The Data Problem in Embodied Intelligence" with slides, structure, and even speaker notes, allowing the user to make multiple revisions, including rephrasing entire slides. In a third scenario, Lingxi analyzed an operational data table (six weeks, five channels) and created a dashboard, automatically recalculating all related summary metrics when the user changed one number (order count from 1380 to 380), and also adjusted text conclusions. According to Kingsoft Office President's Assistant Tian Ran, the company aims to "redo WPS from scratch": instead of processing individual files, Lingxi considers the entire workflow, understands the user's action history, and ensures "serious productivity"—editable PPTs, charts with source data, preservation of formulas, and change tracking.
