Japanese publication Nikkei Asian Review reported that five American tech giants — Alphabet (Google's parent company), Microsoft, Amazon, Meta Platforms, and Oracle — have increased their hidden debts related to opaque artificial intelligence financing by eight times over four years. As of the latest quarter, this figure reached 1.65 trillion dollars, significantly exceeding the balance sheet liabilities of about 1.35 trillion dollars. The Nikkei Asian Review report references the companies' financial reports and other sources. It specifically notes that Alphabet (Google) had future expense commitments signed through the end of June amounting to 811 billion dollars, with the sum increasing by nearly 500 billion dollars in the last three months alone. These commitments are disclosed separately from the capital expenditure budget and represent obligations under signed supply contracts and unpaid orders. Of this total, about 200.7 billion dollars are short-term liabilities.
