Google DeepMind has integrated computer use as a built-in tool in Gemini 3.5 Flash, enabling developers to build agents that can see, reason, and act across browser, mobile, and desktop environments. The feature includes safety mitigations against prompt injection and optional enterprise safeguards.
Google DeepMind announced that computer use is now a built-in tool in Gemini 3.5 Flash, offering the best performance for agentic computer use tasks. Previously only available as a standalone Gemini 2.5 model, computer use is now natively integrated into the main Gemini Flash model. Developers can use the Gemini API and Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform to build custom agents that operate across browser, mobile, and desktop environments, improving long-horizon and enterprise automation tasks like continuous software testing and knowledge work. To address prompt injection risks, the company applied targeted adversarial training for computer use in Gemini 3.5 Flash and released two optional enterprise safeguard systems: requiring user confirmation for sensitive actions and automatically stopping tasks upon detecting indirect prompt injection. Customers have already started driving value with this capability.
