Anthropic finds bugs faster than Microsoft can fix them
Anthropic
Anthropic's AI model Mythos is uncovering vulnerabilities in Microsoft's software faster than the company can patch them. In April, the model found 90 critical and 141 important bugs in SharePoint alone. Microsoft engineers are racing to fix the issues before the tool becomes widely available.
In mid-May, Microsoft engineers met to discuss Project Glasswing, a collaboration with Anthropic to use its AI model Mythos for vulnerability discovery. A manager confirmed that Mythos lived up to expectations, surfacing bugs faster than Microsoft could patch them. In April, Mythos found 90 critical and 141 important bugs in SharePoint. Engineers were urged to fix April bugs by the end of May, when the model was expected to become available to the public, potentially allowing adversaries to exploit the vulnerabilities.
