Alphabet's stake in Anthropic has grown to $124.3 billion, as reported by Bloomberg. Alphabet's Q2 report mentions a $77 billion increase in assets but does not break down private investments. Alphabet first invested $3 billion in Anthropic in 2023, then increased that by $40 billion this year, with $30 billion to be paid in stages until 2030. Last quarter, $10 billion was transferred, leaving $20 billion outstanding. Anthropic plans an IPO this year, which could further boost the value of Alphabet's shares. Despite developing its own AI models, Alphabet continues to invest in rival startups. As of May, Anthropic was valued at $965 billion.
