Agents Change Clouds: Every Third Request to Timeweb Cloud Documentation Is from AI
According to Timeweb Cloud, 32% of requests to the provider's documentation come from AI vendor bots, with ChatGPT-User making 23 times more requests than Googlebot. Mikhail Shpakov, head of development at Timeweb Cloud, discusses the impact of AI agents on the cloud services market. The company has implemented an MCP server that allows managing the cloud through assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, TimewebGPT). Within two weeks, the endpoint received 112 thousand requests, with volume growing 1.5 times weekly. Log analysis showed that out of 237 thousand documentation requests, 76 thousand (32%) were made by AI vendor bots. ChatGPT-User (requests on behalf of users) made 61,475 requests - 23 times more than Googlebot (2,691). The training crawler GPTBot only accessed 10 times. Agents more often read pages related to actions (creating a server, managing DNS) rather than settings. Shpakov predicts that provider recommendations will depend on how understandable documentation is for models, not on advertising. The cost of manual labor is decreasing, but responsibility remains: an agent cannot provide SLA or guarantees. Everything recoverable (web layer, CI) will move to an "agent + inexpensive VM" combination, while clients will continue to trust providers with data and backups. Managed services will have to prove their usefulness to agents through API maturity, MCP, and machine readability. A supervision layer for autonomous systems will emerge: independent monitoring, logs, confirmations, and limits. Shpakov concludes that basic IaaS will become a commodity, services "with a dashboard at triple the price" will lose meaning, and only those bearing responsibility and providing agent-friendly building blocks will remain sustainable.
