AI Promised to Boost Hiring: No Effect Confirmed in Russia
An analysis of 1,076 Russian companies showed that, unlike in the United States, the adoption of generative AI does not accelerate hiring. Companies actively seeking AI specialists hire at the same rate as others, while those experimenting with AI even hire more slowly. The effect is replaced by selection: AI is adopted by wealthier and faster-growing firms, not the other way around.
