Substack introduced an integration with AI detection software Pangram that scans posts, comments, and replies over 100 characters to estimate human vs. AI content. While potentially harming trust by revealing AI-written newsletters, the feature aims to reduce 'AI slop' and boost transparency. Substack joins other platforms labeling AI content. CEO Chris Best said the tool helps ensure the 'hard part' — the idea — comes from a person. Writers can optionally add an AI author's note, and publishers can scan drafts or report false scans.
