OpenAI CFO: July Annualized Revenue Exceeds Entire Q2

At an internal all-hands meeting on Wednesday, OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar and board chairman Bret Taylor highlighted the company's revenue growth and discussed competition with Anthropic. Friar stated that OpenAI's July annualized recurring revenue surpassed the entire second quarter. Separately, an OpenAI spokesperson confirmed that Thinking Machines Lab co-founder Weng Li will return to OpenAI. Earlier this week, she announced her departure from the startup she co-founded with former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati due to health reasons. According to a source, Weng Li will work on using AI models to develop next-generation models, focusing on recursive self-improvement research.
